We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Director of Bioinformatics, to provide technical expertise and leadership to drive advanced computational methods enabling vaccine and adoptive T cell therapy discovery for oncology indications. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work within a multidisciplinary discovery team to lead development and implementation of innovative computational tools to facilitate novel vaccine development.
Build a cross-functional bioinformatics organization to support multiple projects and large data sets
Work within an interdisciplinary team of molecular biologists, cellular biologists, computational biologists and software engineers focused on developing novel vaccine candidates with our ATLAS™ antigen discovery platform
Provide support to lead programs through analysis and integration of NGS and cell assay data from human and mouse samples to support clinical program and research platform needs.
Propose and supervise implementation of an organization-wide data and computational biology architecture enabling automated and semi-automated analysis of clinical and research samples, from sample acquisition to generation of visualizations.
Lead the development and implementation of automated methods, analytical tools and software to deliver insights and hypotheses from multi-dimensional biological data sets
Process, analyze and interpret high volumes of data as part of internal and external scientific studies
Serve as liaison between research and clinical development team to develop a computational driven approach for biomarker discovery and modeling of responder/non-responder analysis
Serve as internal expert in quantitative data analysis and present scientific and technical data to both internal and external scientific colleagues in a clear and cohesive manner
Work independently and prepare timetables, deliverables, and project schedules
Lead a team of computational scientists responsible for multi-dimensional research and clinical data analysis
Ensure rigorous scientific integrity and regulatory compliance
Strong scientific understanding of immunology, oncology, cellular biology, molecular biology and genomics is desirable, including experience with NGS (exome-, RNA-, and TCR-seq) and cellular profiling data
Demonstrated expertise in delivering insights and hypotheses from complex multi-dimensional biological data in a biomedical context
Knowledge of programming languages: Python (required) and R (preferred)
Experience in data management, database design, Cloud computing and architectures, as well as project management.
Demonstrated ability to present data to a multidisciplinary audience in a clear and cohesive manner
Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented environment
In depth knowledge of relevant public and proprietary databases, methods and tools (NCBI, UCSC Genome Browser, TCGA)
Excellent teamwork, time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated management experience and experience growing a team
Extensive experience in NGS, high-throughput cell-based assays, T cell biology, molecular biology, and automation. Knowledge of cell imaging and TCR sequencing preferred
Demonstrated skills in data analysis of complex multidimensional datasets
Demonstrated knowledge of Python, Cloud computing, as well as data and project management. Familiarity with computational biology Cloud-based architectures and best practices in the space of automation

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or Computational biology with 8+ years of relevant post-graduate research experience, including quantitative data analysis in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated experience in clinical and research studies is required with deep understanding of immunology and immuno-oncology strongly preferred
